Certified Passive House Tradesperson
The high level of energy efficiency is achieved mainly by means of passive components (e.g. thermal protection windows, insulation, heat recovery). The small remaining heating requirement can be met by means of the already existent ventilation system, for example. Each Passive House is an active contribution to climate protection.
From the outside, Passive Houses are no different from conventional houses, because the term “Passive House” refers to a standard and not a certain construction method. Good planning and careful implementation of details are decisive factors in the construction of Passive Houses.
Certified Passive House tradespersons substantiate their sound basic knowledge of the construction of Passive Houses by passing an examination. After five years, they must provide evidence that they have maintained and advanced their existing knowledge by documenting their participation in a model Passive House project. Because knowledge is always personal in nature, only single individuals can be certified.
Training for Certification as a Passive House Tradesman
This hands-on training is essential for the construction of energy efficient buildings.
During the construction of passive houses or at a refurbishment with passive house components, it is important that the designers integrate early with construction trades and other Contractors.
courses are oriented towards specific skilled trades (thermal insulation/window installation and heat supply/ventilation).
After successful completion of the examination the participant will be awarded the ”Certified Passive House Tradesman” certificate and will be included in the list of “Certified Passive House Tradesman”.
The certificate must be extended every five years by providing evidence of participation in a certified Passive House project. Proof shall be provided through documentation of the model project.
